‘Old’ Review: M. Night Shyamalan Delivers with a Divisive Experiment

On this edition of the The Global Film Show report, Editor-In-Chief Diego Andaluz gives his quick thoughts on Old. Joined by numerous global contributors, they’ll discuss their in-depth thoughts on the technical and thematic strengths and shortcomings of the film, among other notable highlights on an upcoming episode of the podcast.

A family on a tropical holiday discovers that the secluded beach where they are staying is somehow causing them to age rapidly, reducing their entire lives into a single day.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

OLD plays like M. Night Shyamalan’s TENET, featuring a director operating at his absolute MOST. Powered by his best and worst tendencies at their extremes, it’s hurt by a distractingly off-kilter atmosphere but is saved by its uniquely bold structure and an ambitiously twisted script!

– Diego Andaluz

Old is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, stars Gabriel Garcia Bernal, Alex Wolff and Vicky Krepps, and comes to theaters on July 23rd.
